Accreditation Process
How Does the Accreditation Process Work?
KRP Accreditation Specialists...
Become
the project coordinator from afar for the vascular or
echocardiography lab accreditation process.
All data is sent to our office for review. This entire
process is completed offsite unless there is a specific
need to visit the lab. This process is optimal for cost
containment and efficiency with daily laboratory operation.
Provide ongoing support to the laboratory staff by arranging conference calls, delegate deadline dates for data collection and review of ongoing documentation.
Will assist in the development of your laboratory's specific policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the new IAC standards.
Has experience in suggesting mechanisms for compliance of quality assurance requirements such as: test correlations, peer review, and appropriate use criteria. We will prepare statistical data, review of overall accuracy and suggestions for improvement of deficiencies when indicated.
Carefully
review and critique all case studies that will be used
for the application. Ongoing review of imaging improvement
is completed to ensure optimal outcome with case study
selections.
Prepare
the final application into submission form
as required by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission:
- Currently, the ICAEL application is prepared using the CD-ROM electronic version (the online version has not yet been released). All data is entered onto this application and data is saved on disks for future revision. This version is submitted in paper copy.
- Paper copies of the ICAEL application are made in duplicate for submission. One copy is made for the laboratory, and one is kept in the KRP Accreditation Specialists corporate office.
- The ICAVL recently introduced the online accreditation application. This new modality allows for streamline data entry with attachment of policies, procedure, and QA data forms. Ongoing changes can be made to the application to keep data current for reaccreditation submission.
- The ICAVL online application data is electronically submitted to the ICAVL office. Additional material such as case studies, staff signatures, and IAC agreement and financial statement do require mailing to the ICAVL office.
- Upon completion of either IAC application (echo or vascular), a complete copy of submitted data, CD's with policies and procedures, and other specific laboratory materials are returned to the laboratory for future reference.
Each laboratory will receive upon completion
a complete binder of submitted data, policies and procedures,
disks of the IAC application, and laboratory specific
policies.
