Kathleen Palmieri
Kathleen Palmieri is a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) and former critical care nurse who has been active in the field of vascular technology since 1981. She has worked extensively in providing technical, research and technical support in both academic and private cardiovascular laboratories. In 2008, Kathy was inducted as a Fellow by the Society for Vascular Ultrasound. She was selected by the Board of Directors to receive this award for outstanding contributions to the field of Vascular Ultrasound.
Kathy was also honored as "Citizen of the Year" in Skaneateles, New York in 2007 (click here to read the article). The Chamber of Commerce took note of her dedicated service as an active member of the community for 32 years. Whether serving on a school committee, helping establish a fundraiser or working to educate the public on heart health, the Chamber of Commerce said Kathy has repeatedly given of herself and her resources to the Skaneateles community for many years.
An imaging consultant with Hewlett-Packard from 1994-1998, she taught both Carotid and Peripheral Vascular Imaging. She is well known nationally for her work in vascular technology education, frequently presenting lectures on accreditation strategies and related topics.
Ms. Palmieri has attended numerous ICAVL training programs and was a site visitor for ICAVL prior to forming Vascular Technology Resources, a consulting service for vascular laboratory accreditation. Since 1994 she has successfully completed the accreditation process for over 500 vascular, echo and nuclear cardiology laboratories throughout the U.S., including Alaska and Puerto Rico.
Ms. Palmieri is very active in working
on promoting programs on
community heart health awareness.
She has been on the planning committee of the Go Red for
Women program in Syracuse, NY, and has been a frequent speaker
for Crouse Hospital's Women's Heart Initiative and the American
Heart Association.
Ms. Anderson began her echo experience at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, NY in 1980. She has extensive cardiac nursing and echocardiography experience in both private and academic settings. She is an outstanding echocardiography instructor and currently is employed in a private cardiology practice in Upstate New York.
Ms. Anderson has successfully completed the ongoing accreditation process for her laboratory since 1999. Her expertise in Adult Transthoracic, Stress, and Transesophageal Echo case studies for submission is inestimable.
