How Does the Accreditation Process Work?
KRP Accreditation Specialists...
Become
the project coordinator from afar for the vascular or
echocardiocraphy lab accreditation process.
All data is sent to our office for review. This entire
process is completed offsite unless there is a specific
need to visit the lab. This process is optimal for cost
containment and efficiency with daily laboratory operation.
Set
deadline dates, delegates duties required for the self
study documentation and ensures laboratory cooperation
with application submissions.
Review
and critique laboratory policies and procedures and
assists in correcting what is deficient. This may include
writing policies and procedures, providing quality assurance
mechanisms and compiling statistical data required for
the self study documentation.
Carefully
review and critique all case studies that will be used
for the application. Ongoing review of imaging improvement
is completed to ensure optimal outcome with case study
selections.
Prepare
the final application into submission form
as required by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission:
- all data is entered on the CD-ROM
electronic application (which can be updated and used
for reaccreditation)
- copies for ICAVL or ICAEL (two copies
required)
one copy for the laboratory with completed CD-ROM
electronic application
- one copy is retained in KRP
Accreditation Specialists' corporate office
Each laboratory will receive upon completion
a complete binder of submitted data, policies and procedures,
disks of the IAC application, and laboratory specific
policies.
Accreditation Application Review
This
consultation is a preliminary review, with written
critique and suggestions, of the laboratory's
prepared application for ICAVL/ICAEL.
KRP Accreditation Specialists will review the laboratory's
data, policies and procedures, QA data and case studies
to ensure that the laboratory's application has been
prepared satisfactorily and in compliance with IAC
Essentials and Standards.
KRP Accreditation Specialists has done this numerous times
for other labs and has a 100% success record based
on previous submissions.
Other
Options:
- Reaccreditation
- Self-study
documentation and case study review
For
both options the documentation is reviewed and critiqued.
If needed, recommendations are made prior to the submission
to ICAVL or ICAEL. This ensures accuracy
in completing the required documentation and minimizes
application
deficiencies.
